Master Bathroom Refresh

So a few weeks ago I was in my bathroom and I looked around and was like “Damn, this bathroom seriously is the actual worst.” Not only was it just super basic and obviously not our style or in line with the style of the master bedroom and closet, but it was also just super messy and unorganized! I’ve said it a million times, but I legit cannot, like physically am incapable of keeping something clean unless the aesthetic in on brand, ha. When I’m finally able to make something truly “mine” is when I can finally keep it clean, so I decided to do a quick refresh on the master bathroom! One day, we’d like to completely renovate it, but that’s honestly like 5-7 years down the road, so I decided to make it “us” but super quickly and on a budget!

Here is the final result of about one weeks work on the master bath! I had told you all that I’ve been super inspired by “what we do in the shadows” and was going for a “moody Euro vampire” kind of vibe, and I think we nailed it! lol

First things first, we started with the walls! I had Nate do some super basic trim because I had a ton of art to hang and always love hanging art paired with molding! It honestly adds so much height in here as well! For paint, I knew I wanted to do a high gloss! I’ve never painted with a high gloss before, but I seriously love the reflective sheen! The color is “Gooseberry” by Behr! I wanted dark, but I’ve been doing a lot of black lately so we went with a deep plum/ eggplant shade and I’m so so happy with it! Behind the curtain is an old shower and the start of what will be a linen closet! It’s a work in progress and the curtain will block it off once it’s finished and is great for blocking it while its not!

We wanted to swap out the light fixture as well because that’s a quick fix that makes a big difference, and I was so excited to partner with Corbett Lighting on our fixture! We have an amazing fixture from them in our bedroom and I was so excited to put the “Romanov” in our bath! It’s so elegant and pops off of the “Gooseberry” high gloss ceilings!

Like I had said before, this was just a refresh! We weren’t doing any intense reno and kept the vanity, toilet, tile and all that kind of stuff! So next up was the vanity! It was actually in good working condition, just needed a face lift! I went ahead and installed some pretty millwork molding to the front face, primed and painted my favorite shade, “Space Black” by Behr, and added some fun gold hardware! The top was boring, so I went ahead and installed a fun dark marbled contact paper! The one thing we did replace was the faucet! The old one was fine, but I’ve been wanting the swan for a long time, and it was an easy swap! I found the mirror at an antique store two weeks ago and I’m just obsessed with this entire scene!

We had the above toilet storage before and we needed something above the toilet still! I obviously got rid of the metal rack and I found this cute little french door style hanging cabinet! I wasn’t a fan of the wood shades, so I primed and painted it “Space Black” to match the vanity. Paired with the gold hardware, it’s seriously the most perfect piece! It beautifully homes all of my skin care and looks so cute with some goodies setting on top and some art around it!

About 2 weeks ago I had gone thrifting for this space and found the best stuff! I was so excited to finally have the space all done and get to hang all my vintage art!

If you’re wondering about a shower or tub, well they are in here, just on the other side. haha Suprise! Bathroom refresh part 2 will be coming soon! Originally we were just tackling half of this bathroom. All of the bathrooms in this house are trash, lol, so we decided to take this in 2 phases just to keep it usable and not totally put ourselves out! We also had no idea what we were doing with the other side of the bath, but doing the main side has given us a game plan for the tub shower side!

Excited to get to work on it!

Linking some of the stuff we used below!!
